Doctorate in Sanskrit Literature from the School of Oriental and African
Studies at the University of London. (1992)
Subject: The Gopaalacampuu of Jiiva Gosvaamin.
My primary interests are Sanskrit Literature and Gau.diiya Vai.s.nava
religious history, up to and including ISKCON. My most recent paper at
the regional AAR meeting in Montreal was `The Grace of the Guru and the
modern institution: the Gau.diiya Vai.s.nava tradition of the spiritual
master and ISKCON'.
Other interests include modern Bengali and Hindi literature, and I
have also published some translations of Urdu short stories. Like all
Indophiles, I am fascinated with India in all its myriad manifestations.
I am currently holding a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of
Toronto.
