Description of work:
My name is Olivia Cattedra. I live and work in Buenos Aires,
Argentina. I have a Ph.d. in oriental studies and in philosophy, and
my first area of research is advaita vedanta. I worked with
Gaudapada's Mandukya karika, after with The upadeshasahasri of
Shankara, and with the major dialogues of the Chandogya Up. My thesis
was about the concept of reality and irreality from Gaudapada to
Shankara. After, I was studing some areas of Plotinus' concept of
soul, since my director, Dr. Francisco Garcia Bazan, is a specialist in
neoplatonism, and we choose to investigate some comparative points.
Now I have finished an article about karma and memory in indian texts
and on some points of the Enneads. This year I might introduce some
research on the continuity and transformations of the classic yoga
before and after Patanjali, especially in the Yoga Vashista.
