Description of work:
I am an historian of religion, working chiefly in Indian materials in
Sanskrit and Hindi, Puranas and epics, with primary focus on
goddesses/Devi.  Textual emphasis is supplemented by fieldwork in Hindi-
and Gujarati-speaking areas.  Methodological and hermeneutical interests
in comparative topics, esp. re: Christianity and Islam.
