Specialization and interests: History of Art of India.  South Indian
(mostly Karnataka) medieval temple architecture and sculpture. Research
has focused on the Nolamba dynastic period (9th-11th centuries). 
Concerned with issues of methodology and historiography and how
scholarship has constituted "central" and "peripheral" (art) regions.  New
interest in area of "colonial" art.
