Description of work:
My field of research include the following:
a) Hindi Language and Literature: 19th and 20th centuries: journalism, novel, poetry
b) The standardization of Hindi language and literature and Hindu nationalism
c) Bhagvaticharan Varma: short stories and novels
d) Applied linguistics and sociolinguistics
In terms of my teaching responsibilities, I have taught courses in Hindi
and Hindi literature at the elementary through advanced levels.
My PhD dissertation's title (University of Pisa, Italy) was: Madre India e
la Parola. La definizione della hindi come lingua e letteratura nazionale
nelle universita' "nazionali" di Varanasi (1860-1940).
[Mother India and the Word. The definition of Hindi as national language
and literature in the "national" universities of Varanasi (1860-1940)]
A revised edition of it is published in Italian : Madre India e la Parola.
