Research interests: Evolution of policy advice to governments, South 
Asian politics and security, madrasahs. 

Publications: Articles in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The Washington 
Quarterly, Asian Affairs, Current History and Contemporary South Asia. 
Various contributions to books, including to 'Regime Change: it's been 
done before' (2003) and 'The Valley of Kashmir' (2007).
