Description of work:

Dicipline: Social Anthropology.

Research Interests:  Contemporary issues regarding society and culture in
Northern India, with a special emhpasis on politics in Uttar Pradesh. I
work on a Ph.D. project that aims to study the political situation in U.P.
"from below", that is, through the eyes of a network of upper-caste
Hindus. This again, will be connected to the everyday concerns, large or
small, which people perceive as having direct effect on their lives.
