Description of work:

I am completing my PhD in cultural anthropology at The University of Chicago
and teaching, presently, at Grinnell College.  My dissertation is an
interdisciplinary analysis of the partition of India in 1947, the population
displacements precipitated by it, and its conseqences for contemporary
culture and politics.  The links between historical memory, population
displacement, and citizenship are central to the thesis.
