I am currently a graduate student in a joint-PhD program in Anthropology
and Linguistics at the University of Chicago. 

Research interests:  Sanskrit grammatical traditions and linguistic
philosophy, cultural and social bases of linguistic ideologies,
sociolinguistics of South Asia, colonial grammars and language surveys
(especially George Grierson and the Linguistic Survey of India),
historical linguistics of Indo-Aryan languages, language and nationalism,
historiography of the disciplinary development of linguistics and area
studies.
