Description of work

I hold a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Social Anthropology from Stockhom
University. My B.Sc. was based on studies in Hindi, religious
anthropology, development studies and Social Anthropology. My dis. was
called: Seen Through Women's Eyes: An anthropological analysis of the
Women's movment among Hindu women in India. For my M.Sc. the dis. was The
Sacred Cow, a Beast of Spiritual Burden: A preliminary analysis of the
interrelated causes for cattle protection practised among Hindus in India.

I am now earning my Doctorate in Cultural Anthropology at Uppsala
University, Sweden. My dis. is planned to deal with the importance of
religion for ethnicity in cases of migration. I am going to look at how
the symbolism, values etc. of Hindus that have moved from India to United
Kingdom differ to the group that have migrated to Sweden.

Anyone else that is interested in, or researching this or similar subjects
are more the welcome to get in touch with me. Persons working on any of
the subjects that I have studied and written on before are of course also
welcome.
