I don't understand why you were unable to use The International Directory of South Asia Scholars. The web address is: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/indiv/southasia/cuvl/directory.html To search for Pollock you would go to that address, and then type Pollock into the shaded box entitled SEARCH IDSAS (shaded box, centered half-way down the page). I just tried it again, and it successfully retrieves Pollock's record. I also don't understand your reference to "Part I Individuals" or the "section of United States". Perhaps you are thinking of some other directory? The IDSAS does not have a breakdown by sections, etc. It is a simple keyword database, and you can either search a name or keyword, OR hit the BROWSE button to look through all the entries. Please try again and let me know if you still experience some problem. I would be happy to add your entry to the Directory. Please compose an entry with the following elements: Name: Title: Affiliation: Mail address: phone(s): fax: email: web-page: and short statement of activities, teaching and/or research interests, and list of publications (including appropriate keywords and detailed descriptions so that others can search for your entry) Please email it to me as a plain-text email (NOT as a formatted attachment), and I will quickly insert it into the Directory and notify you that it has been activated. Many thanks for your interest and participation. There are approx. 800 scholars listed in the Directory so far. Best regards, David Magier, PhD South Asia Librarian, Columbia University and Editor of SARAI
