Current Research Interests: 

- Legal Pluralism: Legal Recognition of ethnic minority (non-Christian)
  religious customs and traditions in Western countries, particularly in
  Canada, Great Britain but also in France, the Netherlands, Australia,
  New Zealand etc. 
- Content analysis of postings on 'soc.cul.punjab' network

Other Research Interests:

- Multiculturalism: legal, social, political, religious, educational, etc.
- Sikhs, Sikhism and Khalsaism
- Literature (fiction, poetry, drama, etc.) about India and Indians in
  English or in English translation written by Indians and by Others
  (British, American, or French, German, Russian etc.)
- Portrayal of India and Indians on English and American screens
  (full-length feature films)
- Culture conflicts: invaders, immigrants, and visitors vis-a-vis
  natives 
- Culture defence in ancient and modern times

- 'Easternization' of the 'Western world':   
  immigration, people movement(s), customs and traditions, foods, fashions,
  religions, education, languages, trade, etc. of/from Asia/Pacific, Arabian
  peninsula, Africa and Latin America to the Western world (defined as
  former imperial countries and their 'new' colonies (e.g., Australia, New
  Zealand, Canada, the USA etc.)

- Islamic Agenda for the Twenty-first Century  
  Progress of Islamic presence in Europe, North America, Australia and
  New Zealand from the mid-twentieth century onwards
