Description of work:
Prostitution and venereal disease legislation in British colonies, 
1860-1918, with a particular interest in the Contagious Diseases 
legislation and Cantonment Act widely used in British India (passed in 
the 1860s) to registrate and regulate sexual commerce, particularly among 
British soldiers and sailors consorting with indigenous women.
