Research in Pakistan's politics, political parties, and political system; 
regional cooperation in South Asia; foreign policies of Pakistan and Japan.

Ph.D.: Pakistan-Japan relations. The main focus is on historical, 
political, diplomatic, and economic relations between Pakistan and Japan. 
Research also concentrates on Japan and South Asia in the changing 
post-Cold War era.

Interests: Politics of Pakistan and Japan; their cultural and religious 
aspects, government, and political processes in the two countries.
