Bio Sketch:

My interest is in the study of media in South Asia and the media
representations of South Asia and South Asians.  I have authored a book
called "Television and Popular Culture in India" and I am working on a
book on the Western film representation of South Asia and South Asians.  I
teach Intercultural Communication with an emphasis on South Asia and
specifically India.  I also work in the area of technology, communication
and culture with specific emphasis on the use of technology in education
and in the use of technology in imaging national communities.  My
undergraduate was in the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur (1984
batch)
