Description of work:

Activities: 

Interests in the history of the exact sciences include: Sanskrit and
Persian mathematical and astronomical texts;  cross-cultural transmission
in the exact sciences in Europe and Asia from antiquity to the twentieth
century; interaction between medieval Indian and Islamic mathematics and
astronomy;  and design and development of electronic tools for working
with multilingual, multi-script scientific and scholarly textual sources
(printed and manuscript).  Currently serving as Technical Director of the
American Committee for South Asian Manuscripts of the American Oriental
Society.
