Description of work: 
Sponsored by grants from the Fulbright Association and AIIS since 1999, I
am currently developing a K-12 curriculum guide on North Indian music for
American schools which can later be adapted for Indian schools.  Having
more recently spent about 4 1/2 months in Rajasthan, I would like to shift
my focus to that region and return once I have a more robust conceptual
framework for a more extended stay. The coexistence of classical, folk,
and tribal traditions in the region make it an ideal place for
constructing a comparative framework.
