PhD Thesis: The Dynamics of Mobilization and the Politics of
Democratization: Exploring the 'Political' Role of Civil Society in
Rajasthan (India) which is a historical comparative analysis of three
different kinds of civil society organizations working among the tribals
in Southern Rajasthan (Udaipur). (1) a constructive development
organization (Seva Mandir), (2) an organization focusing on tribal
identity, religion and culture and affiliated to the RSS (Vanvasi Kalyan
Parishad), and (3) an advocacy and mobilization organization (ASTHA)
