Description of Work:

My general field of teaching and research is Sanskrit language and 
literature. I am also interested in Prakrit / Middle Indo-Aryan studies, 
especially from an epigraphic point of view. My recent research has been 
principally concerned with epigraphy and paleography in the Indo-Aryan 
languages, particularly with inscriptions in Kharosthi script / Gandhari 
language. My other teaching and research interests include ancient Indian 
history, the history and dialectology of Sanskrit / Old Indo-Aryan, kavya 
literature, and the comparative and historical study of writing and 
writing systems in India and elsewhere.
