Description of work

I have been engaged in research work for the past many years mainly in the
field of gender and children from a socio-economic perspective. I did my
Ph.D. on child labour from the Centre for the Study of Regional
Development,
School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. My
doctoral study tried to look into the socio-economic determinants of child
labour. At the M.Phil level, I wrote a dissertation entitled 'STATUS OF
WOMEN IN INDIA (A socio-economic analysis)'. This was an extensive study
based on more than thirty variables for three census periods.

I have published articles related to my research interests. This year my
study on child labour in the ghunghroo industry has been published by the
V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (funded by UNICEF).

I am interested in getting in touch with researchers engaged in research
on gender, children and human rights.
