Demographics and country overviews

 

Indiastat
Access to statistics on health, higher education, agricultural and industrial production information, economic statistics, and tourism related data in India. The database also contains information bank and financial institutions, companies, co-operatives, crime and law, population, foreign trade, labour and workforce, housing, media, power, transport, urban-rural settlements and economy in India and more.

Economist Intelligence Unit
Provides access to several EIU publications including Country Reports, Country Monitor, Country Commerce and Country Finance.

EIU Country Data
Database of worldwide economic indicators and forecasts, providing more than 300 series on 150 countries and 45 regional aggregates, running from 1980 and forward to 2005.

Global Insight
Economic time series data, financial market data and country overviews and anlaysis for various countries throughout the world including India.

ISI Emerging Markets
Full-text news, industry overviews, and financial and economic information on emerging market countries including India.

World Development Indicators
Database on development data covering more than 575 indicators, 225 countries, and 18 regional and income groups. The collection of development data includes population, income, social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators for more than forty years (starting in 1960 where data are available).



Industry overviews

Global Market Information Database
Contains consumer demographics. GMID contains over a million demographic, economic and marketing statistics for 205 countries worldwide including India. The database also contains 6-year historic market size data for more than 330 consumer products in 52 countries, plus 5-year forecasts.

ISI Emerging Markets
Full-text news, industry overviews, and financial and economic information on emerging market countries including India.

Standard & Poor’s NetAdvantage
Includes S&P industry surveys for the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.   Also provides company information, including market snapshot, company quote, equity indexes page, the Outlook's market insight, S & P stock stock report, economic calendar, economic insight, industry in focus, and Stovall's sector watch.  



Journal articles and newspapers

 

Business Source Complete
Provides access to scholarly journals in business, marketing and economics, trade journals, industry overviews and newspapers.

Suggested searches:

Factiva
Contains newspapers, trade journals and press releases. Coverage is international.
