Publicly traded companies almost always have an investor relation's site that contains annual reports, SEC filings, Press Releases, and occasionally conference call notes (and sometimes video/audio).

Compustat or CRSP via  WRDS
Databases used by accounting and finance researchers for financial data.  Offers up to 50 years of financial information, including income statement, balance sheet, and ratios.  Compustat standardizes all of their data to allow for better company to company comparison, the database contains both "as reported" and restated data.

Datastream
Business Electronic Resources (Library Use Only)
A powerful database that offers data on equities, commodities, bonds, as well as a comprehensive indices data. Contains both current and historical information (in many cases up to 20 yrs of historical information). Datastream also has economic statistics. Often used to download data unavailable through Bloomberg.  Time series may be charted or tabulated.

EdgarScan

A free resource provided by PricewaterhouseCoopers, EDGARscan contains SEC filings, but also enables you to download up to ten years of financial information from 10Ks and 10Qs.

The components of the Business Library's subscription to SDC are:

  • Worldwide Merger and Acquisitions, which contains data on all corporate transactions involving at least 5% of the ownership of a company, varied coverage from 1980 onward.
  • Joint Ventures & Strategic Alliances, worldwide data on all transactions between 1988 to present
  • New Issues, containing all taxable issues of debt, equity and taxable municipals since 1970.
  • VentureExpert, which has data on venture capital deals from 1970 onward. 70% of the companies are private.
Note: There is an embargo period of 60 days on the data in SDC. Data can be downloaded.
