Who can use Electronic Services off campus?
Currently registered students, faculty and staff may remotely use web
accessible databases licensed by the Libraries.
To use these services, you must
first create a University Network ID (uni). If you don't already have one,
you may create your uni online at:
http://www.columbia.edu/acis/accounts/create/current.html
Your account will be ready for use by the Monday following the date which your
account is created. Databases must be accessed via the Libraries' link to
the database (i.e. not via the database’s generic website).
Due to licensing agreements certain electronic resources are unavailable via
remote access to alumni, visiting scholars, seminar associates and other
registered visitors. For a listing of business and economics related free web
sites see:
http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/indiv/business/ir/index.html
Alumni, visiting scholars, seminar associates, and all other registered
library borrowers may view their circulation record, request electronic renewal
of items checked out, and request items from offsite, or items that are on
order or in process. These services are all available online through
LibraryWeb's Request It services at:
