Getting the Most Out of the Libraries Learn to use LibraryWeb, the gateway to Columbia's digital library and services, and to search CLIO (Columbia's online catalog) and the Internet to identify and locate books, online articles, and Web sites. EndNote Bibliographic Software A hands-on introduction to EndNote, a program for importing, managing, and using bibliographic citations. Covers the basic functionality of the program and techniques for entering and importing references to create a personal database, hands-on practice with MS Word creating various types of alphabetical and subject bibliographies, creating footnotes and endnotes, and inserting figures and charts. Also includes some discussion of customization of styles and reference types. You may want to take this course in conjunction with "Intermediate Microsoft Word for Writing Scholarly Papers".

EndNote Essentials for the Social Sciences A quick overview designed specifically for students in the social sciences with little or no familiarity with EndNote who wish to learn how to best import citations from widely used social sciences databases. Taught by a subject specialists from the Social Sciences Libraries, each session emphasizes a particular discipline, though you are welcome to attend any workshop that is convenient for you. Focuses on basic techniques for entering and importing references to createa personal database, and on using EndNote in conjunction with Microsoft Word to create bibliographies and insert footnotes.
