Important updates, particularly trials and availability of e-resources are announced here. In general, the system requirements for using e-resources are Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP and IE browser of higher version. Computers on Columbia IP range should be used.

Database of articles and images from the National Palace Museum's periodicals becomes inaccessible because the vendor loses its rights to carry this database. The librarian is negotiating with the vendor who has obtained the rights in hope to continue the subscription of the database. |

It is like combined Google Scholar and Google Books from China, but with unmatched search power and enormous amount of full-text contents of any possible type.
Significant efforts have been made in hope to strike a deal to make it accessible. Now it's at the stage of awaiting a decision from Starr and Butler leaders concerning e-resources.

The database includes about 20,000 volumes of Wen shi zi liao, largely first-person narratives on Chinese history and culture.
