Over the summer, the Columbia University Libraries upgraded the software structure underlying CLIO, and now when you search for Chinese, Japanese, or Korean (CJK) materials, you will see the original scripts as part of the text of the bibliographic record. You can click on an item in the original script for further searching.

If you are at a computer with IME for CJK installed, you can search for author and title in the original languages as well.

Please keep in mind computer settings! The CJK information is in Unicode, so if the script appears wildly wrong, you will have to reset your font. In Internet Explorer, go to "Tools" --> then "Internet Options" --> then "Fonts" -- then select "Arial Unicode MS" from the selection of "Latin based" fonts --> click OK (once in the fonts box and once in the Internet Options box).

Let us know what you think, please!
