FINDING ARTICLES IN EARLY 20TH CENTURY AND OLDER JOURNALS
Most databases and indexes start their coverage in the mid- to- late 20th century. Locating articles published before this time may require the use of printed indexes, or of databases specially designed to cover retrospective material. Subject or specialized bibliographies are another method of locating older journal articles.

PAIS—Archive
Type of Resource: index and abstracts with links to some full-text
Coverage: 1915 to 1976
Default is to search the PAIS Archive and PAIS International (1972 to present) simultaneously. Covers international and government affairs, and general social sciences. Good coverage of Latin America.

Check CLIO to see if the Library has access to the journal in paper or online. TIP: Some journals cataloged before the 1980s may not be listed in CLIO. Check the serials card Catalog in Butler Reference (Room 310) if you don't see the title in CLIO.
