The Reading Room
The Ancient & Medieval Studies Reading
Room is designed as a facility where those studying Greek and Latin
Antiquity and the Middle Ages can find a non-circulating, core
collection of primary texts together with relevant commentaries and
basic reference works. The Reading Room is not a comprehensive
resource for these fields, for which the Butler Stacks remain the
principal research collection.
NB: The collection is a NON-CIRCULATING, and
materials are NOT to be removed from the Reading
Room without the permission of library staff.
Checking Books into the Room from another Library
location
It is possible for patrons to arrange for the
tempororary relocation of books from the Butler Stacks into the
Ancient & Medieval Studies Reading Room. The book will remain
in the Reading Room for a specified loan period, after which it
will be automatically returned to the Butler Stacks, unless the
patron requests that its temporary location in the Reading Room be
renewed. NB: These books will NOT be checked out
to the patron but will be checked out to the Reading Room. While
located in the Reading Room, they will NOT
circulate outside the building. To arrange for this temporary
relocation, please contact the
Ancient &
Medieval History and Religion Librarian.
PhotocopiersThere is a photocopy machine located in room
60x, in the hallway outside the Reading Room. Copy cards for use in
this and other library photocopiers can be purchased in the alcove
across from room 202, on teh second floor.
