Thematic Maps (General Collection)

The General Map collection consists primarily of monographic issues of maps. The collection is arranged by geographic regions, beginning with the United States and North America and proceeding to South America, then Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the South Pacific. Within regions, countries are listed in alphabetical order.

An index kept in a black ring binder and displayed on a stand in the Map Room lists the countries covered by a numeric sequence, which identifies the drawer where that country's maps are located.
