Three hundred hours of tape recorded interviews (reel to reel) collected by David Courtwright, Herman Joseph and Don Des Jarlais for their work, Addicts Who Survived: An Oral History of Narcotic Addiction in America, 1923-1965. Most of the interviews were conducted with long term heroin addicts, many of them enrolled in methadone programs.
