Summer Institute on Oral History June 5-16, 2006
Women's Narratives, Women's Lives: Intersections of Gender and Memory
The Columbia University Oral History Research Office is pleased to announce its 2006 Summer Institute, Women's Narratives, Women's Lives: Intersections of Gender and Memory, which will be held in New York City from June 5-16. We are extremely pleased that Luisa Passerini, author of Autobiography of a Generation and Fascism in Popular Memory, will be joining us this year for the first week of the Institute, along with Alessandro Portelli, author of The Death of Luigi Trastulli and The Order Has Been Carried Out: History, Memory and Meaning of a Nazi Massacre in Rome.
The Institute is co-directed this year by Ann Cvetkovich. She will be joining the director, Mary Marshall Clark, along with Ron Grele, Steve Rowland, Marianne Hirsch, Leo Spitzer, Jose Carlos Sebe Bom Meihy, Ruksana Patel, Rita Charon, Anne Foner, and Linda Shopes.
Tuition is $1000, and the final deadline for consideration of applications is May 15.
