Using Collections: Off-site Materials

How to Access Collections Stored Off-site

Due to space constraints, many manuscript and rare book collections and all archival master's essays and doctoral dissertations are housed off-site and require advance notice for retrieval. It usually takes anywhere from 2 to 7 business days to retrieve materials from off site storage. If longer, a staff member will contact you.

Master’s Essays and Doctoral Dissertations

All master’s essays and doctoral dissertations are stored off-site. If you are interested in viewing them please contact the University Archives (tel. 212-854-3786; uarchives@columbia.edu) about access and to place a request.
