  • American Film Institute Catalog, a comprehensive project to document information on every feature length film produced in America or financed by American production companies from 1893 to 1970 (except 1951-1960). The catalog provides information on over 45,000 films including more than 17,500 made in the early years of film from 1893 to 1910.   • March 22, 2000: The Databases, Reference Works & Indexes page now has a link to the International Index to the Performing Arts, a multidisciplinary index to the performing arts including broadcast arts, circus performance, comedy, dance, drama/theater, film, magic and performance business, pantomime, puppetry, stagecraft, and storytelling. Provides access to citations from 1864 to the present (1864-1998 selectively) including abstracts for 1998 and continuing.

  • Internet Movie Database, a searchable online movie database for films and TV shows made since 1892. (3/22/2000)

  • DataGate, the search interface for the local holdings of Columbia University's Electronic Data Service (EDS), and the entire catalog of Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) holdings. DataGate allows for online browsing of documentation and sample programs, where available, and allows for online ordering of ICPSR data. (3/22/2000)

  • Wiley InterScience. This resource provides full-text access to Wiley Interscience journals for which Columbia has print subscriptions.   • Interactive Services is "Review Checked-Out Items." Until recently, this "Has List" service just allowed you to see a list of books checked out to you in CLIO and find out when they're due. We've added a new feature to this service: a separate table (when relevant) to display material you have requested. The four types of entries in this table are: hold requested, hold available, recall requested, and recall available. Each of these entries includes the same bibliographic and item information that is displayed in the "Has List" and includes the date a hold or recall was placed or became available. (3/1/2000)

  • Early English Books Online, a nearly comprehensive collection of all extant books published in English or in the British Isles in any language prior to 1700. Titles can be retrieved using the cataloging data for those titles from the English Short-Title Catalog database along with information about the types of illustrations they contain. A digitized version of the Early English Books microfilm collection, this database contains full-text page images of over 96,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue (1475-1640) and Wing's Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700) and their revised editions, as well as the Thomason Tracts (1640-1661) collection.
