  • Toyogaku Bunken Ruimoku, an index to entries in Toyogaku bunken ruimoku, with coverage of post-1981 imprint journal articles and books on South, Southeast, Central,and East Asia. Searchable by author, title, and broad subject category. (12/18/02)

  • The Cochrane Library , a collection of evidence-based medicine databases, including the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews: high quality information for people providing and receiving care and those responsible for research, teaching, funding and administration. The Cochrane Library also includes the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness; Cochrane Controlled Trials Register; NHS Economic Evaluation Database; Health Technology Assessment Database; Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews (CDMR); and a glossary of methodological terms.   • History E-Book Project, planned as a collection of interrelated and interlinked online scholarly books in the field of history that will consist of a backlist (containing previously published works of recognized significance) and a frontlist (containing new works first published in electronic format).   • CQ Homeland Security, a one-stop web-based intelligence service that brings subscribers the most up-to-date and comprehensive homeland security information. A dedicated team of CQ reporters and editors provide daily news and analysis on the latest homeland security spending and policy issues. Subscribers also have access to a special homeland security version of CQ schedules, complete with event dates, times and hearing room locations. (11/14/02)

  • The Times of London, offers full-text and full-image articles from the Times of London. When complete, in late 2003, it will include the years 1785-1985. Currently the years 1924-1954 are available; holdings for earlier years are added monthly. It is a digital reproduction, cover to cover, of the paper in PDF files. (11/08/02)

  • RISM (Repertoire International des Sources Musicales), Series A/II, contains bibliographic records of music manuscripts written after 1600, with library locations. The records include information in standard bibliographic categories as well as graphical images of over 506,000 musical incipits. (11/08/02)

  • Kirk Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, includes the full-text of the entire 27 volume, 4th edition print set with articles, tables, chemical and mathematical equations, images, photos, and illustrations. (11/08/02)

  • Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry, includes the full-text of the entire sixth edition of the print encyclopedia. Contains nearly 1000 major articles, 10,000 tables, 30,000 figures, and cross-references. Chemical substances ranging from raw materials and bulk products to fine and specialty chemicals are described in detail. Information on physical and chemical properties, production, applications, economic data, toxicology and occupational health is provided for each substance.   • Bibliografia de la Literatura Espanola, desde 1980 is a comprehensive bibliography of works published between 1980 and the present, but covering time periods back to the Middle Ages. Within Spanish literature, the bibliography covers literary theory, literary genres, popular literature, and Hispanism and includes citations for critical and translated editions of literary works. Contains information on graduate programs in the chemical sciences and lists faculty member biographical information, area of specialization, selected publications, and contact information.   • Emusicquest, contains bibliographic citations and order information for music scores; includes the Music-In-Print volumes on Sacred Choral, Classical Vocal, Orchestral, String, Classical Guitar, Woodwind, and Piano Music In Print. A new feature is a collection entitled Miscellaneous Music In Print which includes several important categories coming soon to The Music-In-Print Series: Band, Brass, Handbell, Percussion, Harp, among others.   • Factiva, a searchable full-text database of nearly 8,000 newswires, newspapers, magazines and trade journals. Comparative data on companies and industries. Company SEC filings. At this time, Factiva.com is optimized for use with Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher under the following operating systems: Windows 2000, 98, NT or 95. Factiva also runs on Netscape 6.0 or higher. Factiva does not currently support Macintosh systems. Macintosh users may experience some problems running certain Factiva functions. (8/30/02)

  • Derwent Innovations Index, the world's most comprehensive database of international patent information from more than 40 patent-issuing authorities with added value to the patent literature including Descriptive Titles, Abstracts, Patent Family, Derwent Class Codes, Derwent Manual Codes, and Company Codes.   • CountryWatch Forecast, a globally integrated 5-year macroeconomic forecast for each country of the world, including concise economic overviews complementing forecast tables and graphs, 5-years of historical data on key macroeconomic variables, and an interface that allows one to change forecast input assumptions to create customized country forecast scenarios.   • WDI Online (World Development Indicators), a comprehensive database on development data covering 575 indicators, 225 countries, and 18 regional and income groups. The extensive collection of development data includes population, income, social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators for more than forty years (1960 to 2000, where data are available).   • RLG Cultural Materials, an interdisciplinary collection of high-quality digital versions of unique materials (including ancient maps, medieval manuscripts, handwritten letters, drawings, paintings, sound recordings, books, and moving images) contributed by archives, libraries, and museums from around the world.   • OxResearch, a database of articles from the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief services, including the World Service and the Regional Services (East Europe, Asia/Pacific, Latin America). The articles, written by faculty members at University of Oxford for the consulting firm, Oxford Analytica, analyze the implications of significant national and international developments. Coverage is from 1984 to 90 days short of the present. (5/7/02)

  • Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics, full-text encyclopedia articles and extensive links to Web resources for astronomy and astrophysics, including news, astronomical images and conference announcements. Articles are contributed by 800 participating authors who are professional astronomers and astrophysicists. (5/6/02)

  • Accessible Archives, searchable full-text database of several 18th and 19th-century newspapers (and one magazine), 1728-1870. Contains U.S. history resources, including the Pennsylvania Gazette, the Civil War coverage of three newspapers, Godey's Lady's Book, a group of African-American and abolitionist newspapers, and selections from several 19th century Delaware Valley newspapers.   • American Periodical Series, searchable full-text and page images of several hundred American periodicals of the 18th and early 19th centuries. When completed, this database will cover more than 1,000 American magazines and journals published between 1741 and 1900. (4/11/02)

  • Cambridge Journals Online, full-text articles from journals published by Cambridge University Press. Includes only those journals for which Columbia has print subscriptions. (4/5/02)

  • ProQuest Historical Newspapers, full-text and full-image articles from the New York Times and Wall Street Journal dating back to their first issues. The collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every issue--cover to cover--in PDF files.

    This database is a work in progress. As of 2/25/02, seven of the 13 decades of New York Times coverage were completely scanned (1850s, 1860s, 1870s, 1900s, 1940s,1950s,1960s), five are over 90% complete (1880s, 1890s, 1910s, 1930s, 1970s), and one (the "Roaring 20s") is only 50% complete. Precise figures for the Wall Street Journal are unavailable, but ProQuest anticipates the scanning will be done by the end of March 2002. (3/20/02)

  • The Nation Digital Archive, searchable full-text and page images of a major U.S. journal of left/liberal opinion, 1865-1999. The Nation is one of the country's leading journals of left and liberal opinion, with coverage of domestic and foreign affairs. (3/8/02)

  • Left Index, citations, abstracts and some full-text to the literature politically on the left. Provides access to the diversity of literature on the left, with a primary emphasis on political, economic, social and culturally engaged scholarship inside and outside academia. A secondary emphasis is on significant but little known sources of news and ideas. (3/8/02)

  • The Chronicle of Higher Education. The online version of the print journal is fully searchable and features daily reports on developments in higher education, information technology, and distance education, as well as regularly updated databases of grant opportunities, job announcements, and links to Internet resources for higher education.   • International Film Archive, citations for the holdings and publications of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF): Holdings of Archives, List of Members, and Bibliography of Publications. Bibliography of Latin American Cinema. (3/5/02)

  • Repertoire international de la presse musicale (RIPM), citations for articles in 19th-century music periodicals. Contains 380,000+ annotated citations to articles on music and musical life in the 19th century. Provides a cumulative index to 127 international periodicals published in the U.S. and Europe during the 19th century. (2/28/02)

  • International Index to Music Periodicals Full Text, citations, abstracts and full-text for articles in music periodicals. Contains current indexing for over 300 periodicals beginning in the mid-1990s with full-text articles for over 40 titles.
