RefWorks: An Easy Way to Create Bibliographies Online
(NEW YORK, February 9, 2006)
Looking for an easy way to create and format your bibliography?
Try RefWorks. It allows you to:
- Organize your research
- Include citations while you write your paper
- Search your RefWorks database
- Build a bibliography in a variety of citation styles (MLA, APA, Chicago)
- Import references from many data sources
- Create bibliographies in different document formats (Word, RTF, HTML, etc.)
RefWorks is web-based so you don’t need to download anything to your hard drive and it can be used across various platforms including Windows, Mac, or Unix. It’s available from any computer connected to the Internet.
RefWorks is compatible with EndNote, so you can import RefWorks citations into your EndNote libraries and vice versa. Some of RefWorks’ import procedures are easier to use than EndNote.
Once connected to RefWorks, start by creating your personal RefWorks account by clicking “Sign Up for an Individual Account.” We recommend using a different name and password than your Columbia UNI and password.
For tips on using RefWorks, take one of the Libraries’ free workshops. For more information see, EndNote and RefWorks at Columbia.
