Geology Library
(NEW YORK, February 15, 2008) The Geology Library underwent a major renovation during the summer of 2007
and now offers a completely re-designed space with new fixtures and furnishings.
The renovation was in conjunction with the creation of a new Geology Laboratory
next door to the Library.
Highlights of the renovation include:
- 25 seats (including comfy seating, study carrels, and 2 large tables)
- 4 public computer work stations
- Wireless internet access
- 12 lockers available for daily use

The stacks space also received the first fresh coat of paint they had seen in
many years, overall making the newly renovated Geology Library the perfect place
for quiet study. The collection is particularly strong in traditional terrestrial
geology, with extensive materials from state and foreign geological surveys
and societies dating back to the 18th century. Subject areas collected include
mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, hydrology, stratigraphy, and paleontology.
The Geology & Geoscience Librarian, Amanda
Bielskas, is available to help you with your research.
Please come and visit our newly renovated space, we are quite proud of it!
