The Big Read Egypt/US -- Naguib Mahfouz and "The Thief and the Dogs"




(NEW YORK, March 2, 2009)

A month-long series of events celebrating the Egyptian author and Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz begins with an opening ceremony, lecture, and film screening on Thursday, March 5, 2009, 5:00 pm to 8:30pm, in The Rotunda, Low Memorial Library, 535 West 116th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.

The events are co-sponsored by
Columbia University Community Affairs, The National Endowment for the Arts, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and The Middle East Institute in the School of International and Public Affairs, March 5-31, 2009.
