Science Libraries Announcement

(NEW YORK, June 26, 2009)

On June 30, 2009 at 5PM, the Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics & Astronomy, and Psychology Libraries will close permanently. Library services supporting these disciplines will be relocated temporarily to other campus libraries in anticipation of the opening of the new integrated science library in the Northwest Corner Building in Fall 2010.

Materials slated to move to the new facility will be temporarily relocated to the Mathematics Library and will remain accessible to researchers. Current course reserves for Chemistry and Physics will be available from the Mathematics Library. Reserves for Biological Sciences and Psychology will be available from the Geology Library.

Online journal access, interlibrary loan, Borrow Direct, and offsite storage (ReCAP) retrieval services will continue uninterrupted.

The Libraries regrets any inconvenience to our users and will do everything possible to assure consistent service and access to the collections.

Please forward questions to Jane Winland, Acting Director, Science & Engineering Libraries, winland@columbia.edu, (212) 854-5588.
