About me: “moved to New York in 1981 and know the city intimately. How great to work at Avery and help the architecture, planning and preservation students do their New York related projects and research! My parallel interest is Mexico and Latin America, having lived in Mexico for five years before returning to New York in 1999. I continue to travel in Mexico all the time and love to share all things Mexican."
What's new at my library: We have a new director! Carole Ann Fabian joins us just in time for the start of the new school year.
Personal favorite: Our marvelous collection of historical New York City landbooks and atlases. They are beautiful to look at and it’s fascinating to trace the history of the development of the city, block by block.

Recommended resources:
- Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals – produced by the librarians at Avery, the foremost source for citations to articles in Architecture, Urban design, Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation. Particularly strong for research on 19th century American architecture in addition to post-War architecture around the world.
- New York 1880, 1900, 1930, 1960, 2000 - a set of five volumes by Robert A.M. Stern that meticulously describe the growth and history of the city.
- Oxford Art Online – the best place to start art history research, as it combines the Grove dictionary of art, Oxford companion to Western art, Encyclopedia of aesthetics, and the Concise Oxford dictionary of art terms.
