Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) provides access to materials that are currently unavailable through Columbia University Libraries. There are several ILL offices within the Columbia library system, and each provides services for affiliated patrons. The form below will direct you to the appropriate ILL office.

If you are a student, faculty, or staff member affiliated with the Morningside or Barnard campuses and you have a valid UNI and e-mail account, you are eligible to use ILL services provided by Butler Library. Provost-appointed visiting scholars with borrowing privileges may also use this office. Alumni, seminar associates, or individuals who have purchased library reading or borrowing privileges from the Library Information Office are not eligible.

In addition to borrowing materials, Interlibrary Loan lends materials to patrons of other libraries through Institutional Borrowing and reciprocal lending arrangements, which expand the collections of the institutions and enhance the library experience of their patrons.
