Purpose and Program Description
The library seeks to support the needs of undergraduate
students and faculty members taking part in the Modern Greek
Studies emphasis within the Classics Department. While a few
language courses were offered prior to 1997, the program has
since expanded significantly. Although the emphasis is on
language and literature, aspects of various courses deal with the
history, performing arts, philosophy, religion, anthropology and
folklore of Greece. As of 1998, there are two full-time teachers
in the program.

General Selection Guidelines (See classed analysis for
further details)
Overall our existing collection for Modern Greek is at the
basic information level. In fall 1998, we began collecting at the
study and teaching level which is also our ultimate goal
level.
-
Specific Delimitations
-
Formats collected: We collect monographs and monographic
series selectively and periodicals, videos, newspapers, and
digital forms of information very selectively. We do not
collect dissertations.
