Question:

 My institution is a member of SHARES. May I use Columbia's libraries?


Answer:

If your institution is a member of SHARES, and is located outside of the NYC metropolitan area:
Upon presentation of your current photo ID demonstrating your association with your school and a valid government issued photo ID, we will prepare a temporary access card until the end of the current semester.

If your Shares institution is within the NYC metropolitan area and you present a valid government issued photo ID:
Upon presentation of a METRO Title or METRO Subject referral form, we will prepare a temporary access card for the appropriate amount of time (1 day for Title Referral, up to 7 days for Subject Referral).
