Question:

I do not have my Columbia University ID or Library readers card. How can I get into Columbia's libraries?

Answer:

If you have simply misplaced your ID, or left it behind, we can issue you a temporary one-day paper card, provided you are currently in our database. Please visit the Library Information Office for a temporary card.

A $5 fee will be charged for each subsequent temporary card issued. This includes temporary cards issued to Alumni and Friends, Visiting Scholars, Shares members, 5 or 20 day cards, or any other passes issued by the Library Information Office.

If you believe your ID to be lost or stolen, go to the Columbia University ID Center as soon as possible to get a replacement ID card.
