Question:

I urgently need a book that is checked out. How can I request it?

Answer:

If a book you need is checked out to another user, you may place a recall or hold on it in CLIO.  More information.
For instructions how to place a Recall Request see CLIO: Placing a Recall Request (02:02).

You may also use Borrow Direct (turnaround: four business days).
For instructions how to request books through Borrow Direct, see CLIO: Requesting Books Through Borrow Direct (02:10).

You may also check the catalogs of other New York area libraries, and obtain a referral from the Reference Department to use the item at that library if appropriate.
