Library materials are classified as non-circulating for a variety of reasons.  High-use materials (e.g. reference and reserved works) are non-circulating to ensure availability to all students.  Fragile and rare materials (e.g. manuscripts and rare books) are non-circulating to protect them from wear and theft.

Non-circulating materials can only be used on-site.  In some cases, the non-circulating material can be scanned or photocopied.  Check with the librarian before scanning or photocopying.
