Columbia University Masters Swim Team

Coaches

Lauren Morford - Our new head coach is a monster distance swimmer. She was the 2004 Ivy League Champion in the 1,000 yard freestyle and qualified for nationals. She has also spent some time on the deck coaching the Bedens Brook Country Club in Princeton, N.J. and has taught swimming lessons and technique to people ages 3-45 for the last eight years running.

Kelly McConnell - There are two things that should seem familiar about Kelly. First, in 2004 she broke Columbia's varsity record in the 100 fly and earned a spot on the record board at the pool. Second, she has spent nearly six years teaching swimming lessons to people of various ages and coached our team a few times this spring and summer. Her best events are 100 fly and 200 back.

Henning Fog - This representative to both the Inter-Greek Council and the Columbia College Student Council (2008) struggles with something that every master's swimmer knows all too well - balancing his time and commitment to swimming. This native of New Jersey had a run-in with a master's swimmer while training with his high school team. The master called him "numb nuts." Since then he has been seeking penance with master's swimmers everywhere. Just be sure to pronounce his last name like "vogue" and he won't fly off the handle. His parole officer promised.
