Prof. Yao was presented with the Janette and Armen Avanessians Diversity Award by Interim Dean, Gerard Navratil (Pictured below), at the Class Day ceremony on May 18th. This award, established in 2007 by University Trustee Armen A. Avanessians, MS’83, honors faculty members whose actions encourage women and men from diverse backgrounds to become part of the academic community of engineering education.
