Professor Wong advances nonlinear, quantum and
ultrafast optics in nanophotonics, including silicon electronic-photonic
circuits and photonic crystals, quantum dot interactions,
nanoelectromechanical systems, and nanofabrication. He is affiliated with
the Columbia faculty since 2004, and is a recipient of the DARPA Young
Faculty Award in 2007, the NSF CAREER Award in 2008, and the 3M
Faculty Award in 2009. He received his Sc.D. in 2003 and his S.M. in 2001,
both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 1999 to 1996 he
completed his double degree, B. Sc. highest honors and B. A. highest
honors, both at the University of California at Berkeley.
Since 2003, he has published 4 book chapters, 55+ journal papers and 85+
conference articles, and delivered 50+ invited talks at universities and industry.
He has received 10 awarded patents, with 10 pending patents. He is a member of
the American Physical Society and the Optical Society of America, and his
work has appeared in Nature, Nature Photonics, Physical Review Letters,
Nano Letters, amongst others.
