RECORDANDO TLATELOLCO: Oct. 2, 1968

Inside the Massacre at the Plaza de las Tres Culturas: Screening of Jorge Fons' Rojo Amanecer, which takes an in depth look at the massacre at Tlatelolco in Mexico City during the 1968 student movement. Discussion will follow on the movement's origins, the events leading up to the massacre and the massive government cover-up.

This film traces the education and street-work of the  Nicaraguan chapter of “Men Against Violence”. The film covers their work in places as varied as a Nicaraguan military base, the territory of street gangs in the barrios of Managua, and, of all the places, a cockfight. There mission is to help men question and challenge the basis of their views and treatments of help men question and challenge the basis of their views and treatment of women in Latin society, and to offer an alternative to “machismo”.
