The Kandel Student Alumni Association (KSAA) is a student organization comprised of undergraduates from each of the departments in the engineering school. The Kandels strive to create opportunities for fellow undergraduates to meet alumni and faculty memb ers.
Last year, the Kandels sponsored: weekly Coffee Hours, dinner at the Columbia Club with Young Alumni (members of the Columbia Engineering Young Alumni Association), a trip to the Con Edison Nuclear Power Plant Simulator, a discussion on Women in Engineeri ng, students participating as judges at the National Academy of Science's Science Expo, a day to see a Broadway Musical--"Damn Yankees" with Jerry Lewis--, and a night out for some comedy with some more Young Alumni.
The Kandels also attempt to get the scoop on what qualities are most marketable in the engineering professions today. Their alumni network is useful in providing tips on fine-tuning resumes and finding internships. Many also mentor current SEAS undergra duates.
The Kandels anticipate an active year. For further details, please call Frank Wang, President, at x 3-7772, or see the Kandel bulletin board by the computer terminals in the 4th floor lobby of Mudd.
